CBT Edge may collect information such as your name, email address, and profile picture when you sign in using Google. If you choose not to create an account, you can still use most features of the website, including generating and attempting quizzes. We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve our services.
Creating an account is optional. However, signing in is required to save quiz progress, continue unfinished quizzes, review previous attempts, and access other account-specific features. Authentication is securely handled using trusted third-party providers, and CBT Edge does not store your plain-text password.
Users may upload PDF files to generate Computer-Based Tests. Uploaded PDFs are processed automatically using OCR and other extraction technologies when required. The uploaded PDF is temporarily stored and remains accessible only to the same user for up to 48 hours to support quiz continuation and review. After this period, the PDF is automatically removed and must be uploaded again if needed.
To provide quiz functionality, CBT Edge stores information including quiz questions, correct answers, user responses, quiz mode, PDF type, quiz ID, and generated results. Quiz history is currently retained to allow users to review previous quizzes and continue unfinished sessions. User-controlled deletion of quiz history is not currently available but may be introduced in future updates.
CBT Edge uses secure HTTP-only session cookies and other essential cookies required for authentication, maintaining user sessions, and managing active quizzes. These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website and are not used to identify users for advertising purposes.
To operate the platform, CBT Edge relies on trusted third-party services including Supabase for database and authentication services, Render for hosting, Hugging Face for AI-powered PDF processing, and Google Sign-In for user authentication. These services process data only as required to provide their respective functionality.
CBT Edge may display advertisements through services such as Google AdSense to support the platform. Advertisements are intended to remain appropriate for an educational audience. We may also use analytics services in the future to understand website performance and improve user experience. Any such services will operate according to their own privacy policies.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information from unauthorized access, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. User information is stored using secure infrastructure provided by trusted service providers. However, no online system can guarantee absolute security.
CBT Edge does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Information is shared only with trusted service providers when necessary to operate the website, provide authentication, process uploaded PDFs, or comply with applicable legal obligations.
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the legal right or permission to upload any PDF or other content submitted to CBT Edge. Users should not upload content that violates copyright, intellectual property rights, or applicable laws.
CBT Edge is designed for students and learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided inappropriate personal information may contact us for assistance.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new features, legal requirements, security improvements, or operational changes. Any updates will be published on this page, and continued use of CBT Edge after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
